Networking in aviation psychology and safety

Aviation Psychology is an integrative field of study covering the role of humans in aviation systems. The field has its roots in the need to develop or refine means for selecting candidates for military flight training in the early 1900’s.

Aviation Psychology involves the knowledge of many areas in psychology such as cognition, memory, perception, attention and decision making. Aviation Psychology also reaches into many areas of aviation such as cockpit design and human-machine interaction, training development and human performance research and pilot selection.

The idea with this Aviation Psychology Network is to provide a forum for aviation psychology issues in order to encourage exchange of information and experience as well as contribute to the enhancement of the field.
